Happy Halloween!!!!

Our ward had a trunk-or-treat tonight and the boys wanted to be soldiers. After some thinking we came up with some costumes. The boys were pretty excited for the party. Tyler and his buddies were running around like crazy. They just had the kids go around and keep going till the candy ran out. Garrett went around to the cars one time, and then hopped in the back of the blazer with Machelle and started digging through his candy. Here is a picture of the boys before the party, and another after the party. We did some face paint on Garrett, but he didn't last long. He couldn't resist the urge to rub his face, so off it came. We figured it would be more enjoyable if we didn't get paint on us from Garrett.

You'll notice that most of Tyler's face paint has been rubbed off and is on his sleeve, and surprise, surprise.... Garrett has a shirt full of drool!

Hannah Sept. 09

So I thought I would be a helpful sister since Roz is in the process of moving. Here are the pictures I took of Hannah when I was there in September. I know they are poor quality and I owe her some good ones using my good camera.

My Memory!

So I have finally figured out why women have more than one child. We forget all the challenges after they happen. For example the past couple days we have been working with Garrett on Potty Training. I have cried, I have gotten angry, and I have been extremely frustrated (keep in mind that I am trying to hide my feelings so he thinks going potty on the toilet is the coolest thing in the world). And the fun part is I don't remember it being that bad with Tyler but it actually was according to Logan who doesn't forget. I wonder if that is why mothers memories get so bad. So they don't remember how hard it was and would be willing to do it again and again. Just like childbirth. yes I vaguely remember the pain but not to the full extent. So that is my thought for the day. Or maybe I am making this up just to get me through the next week.

Tatting

Many years ago my Mother tried to teach the young women how to tat. Well needless to say I didn't pursue it. I was a teenager and I didn't want to learn. Years later my Mother came up to help us during my Melanoma surgery. Since I was having to stay down with my leg elevated and we had nothing to do, I saw her tatting. So I asked to learn. From that time on I have learned to love tatting. It is small knots put together to create amazing and intricate edgings and doilies. I don't care much for doilies so I make handkerchiefs. Here are a few that I have made. My first handkerchief I used crochet weight thread. The next is the smallest crochet weight thread and the last are done with tatting thread. Very small. Mom thank you for sharing with me something I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy.

A friend paid me to do this one for her daughter (below).

This is the one I am currently working on.

These are just me trying patterns out to see if I like it.

And the finished project.

Frustrated to the point of No Return!

So I am officially frustrated with my hairstylist. So for months now I have been wanting long layers put in my hair. My hair just feels heavy being the length it is without layering in it. So in April I went and asked for layers all I got was a blunt hair cut. I am not kidding. So I thought maybe I didn't clarify correctly. So this last time I asked for layers from my shoulders down. That is a good 5 inches or more of layers. I even watched to make sure she did layers. She did and so she straightened it to the point I couldn't see them but I knew she cut them so I left happy. Well I only have an inch and a half of layers in my hair. And they don't make a difference. Arrrg!! Then to make it worse I could just complain and have her fix it but I don't dare to do that. I hate making other people feel bad at my expense. Another reason I can't be a business woman. So with her failing twice do I try to find someone else to cut it or try again.
